The other night I got drugged at the bar. I got home safe & slightly buzzed at 1am, made some eggs & toast, then blacked out until 4am when I found myself being dumped in the shower after I had apparently barfed in bed all over my boyfriend’s butt - like, I straddled him laying on his stomach and puked on his ass, good morning! I had eaten before & after going out for 3 hours having only 4 drinks. I had gotten the shakes real bad while we were out but I just tried to ignore it thinking it was nerves. The girl I was with didn’t get sick but she also wasn’t stupid enough to leave a full drink on our table while we went out to have a cigarette. Didn’t think it’d matter as almost everyone there that night was a friend or I’d worked with or had seen around…
I keep trying to deny it, that it’s possible I just drank too much, but earlier in the week I’d downed half a bottle of whiskey in the park and ate fruit all day and barely even felt it
I can’t believe this shit happened to me but at least I’ve got something to make my next comic about, haha.

Over the weekend I got to see the Sidney Hih building in downtown Milwaukee mid-demolition for one last time. I have to admit that I never thought much of the perennially run-down building sandwiched between a highway spur and the mostly vacant northern edge of downtown during my youth in Milwaukee.
Milwaukee is a city that has an incredibly rich urban history. While the Sidney Hih building may have been an eyesore to some, it’s demolition in the face of questionable urban planning and development continues to raise the question of what is important and what is worth saving, especially for a city with as rich a history as Milwaukee.
Im not much of a hater but I do not like this guy.
I don’t understand how he gets away with that shit. Drives around all slow with a megaphone downtown…I heard he’s officially a Wisconsin “landmark” or tourist attraction or some bulllll
in front of the HiFi. the colors & “kill people” were added on top of someone else’s shit. made me think of Divine. they’re playing Pink Flamingos at midnight in a gallery in Riverwest in a couple’a weeks, can’t wait for that!

People forget Michigan is one of the most (if not the most) segregated state in the US
It’s a reason Detroit is the Blackest city in America. White people left when Blacks emigrated from the south to work. You know white flight. They tryna come back, but they can stay in their overpriced not-special houses in the burbs doe.
*exactly*—the biggest flight IN to detroit right now is young white upper class professionals. the biggest flight OUT of detroit is middle class black families that can afford to leave. and they’re leaving becuse it’s very much recognized that it’s *only going to get worse* for black communities in detroit.
i mean—it is *policy* to take resources and funding away from poor (**I.E. BLACK**) communities and redirect those resources into “viable” communities—i.e. *WHITE* communities. basically it’s a policy of “white supremacy/segregation saving detroit”—
My uncle told me a story about a 75 yr old woman who applied for a loan at the bank. They denied her because she was on a fixed income, but also because she lived in a low income area. Doesn’t that sound familiar? Doesn’t that sound like red lining? You know that process where banks exclude low income areas aka POC areas from receiving loans? People want to say segregation is over or is a southern thing but It’s been happening for decades in Detroit. They want to move people out but are only offering them $3000-$5000 for homes that are already paid for. Most folks in these areas are on fixed income. How you suppose to pay rent with $3000? That would run out in less than a year. Fuck, six months even. But yeah, let’s all hold on to the idea that white gentrification will save Detroit and not displace hundreds of Black people or leave them homeless.

Remember Darius Simmons? A meeting was held yesterday for the public to speak out about how his mother was kept in custody while her child died in the hospital, and the Chief of Police left before hearing anyone speak. The mayor was there and left right away too. I’m not surprised, at all. And the way things have been here they had better stop this shit before a fucking civil war breaks out.

My friends were takin’ photos & apparently this guy comes outta nowhere thinkin’ “mmm tourist kids”, about to ask for demand change I guess - I didn’t see him, it was just my turn for photo & a friend the night before taught us how to do back bends soooo just as dude was comin up I started & a paddy wagon went by so I said “helllooo police” & it weirded him out so much he just walked away, l.o.l.
